Devoted family man, school custodian, formerly of Orange
Albert "Doc" Branca, 90, formerly of Orange, N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Jan. 21, 2020. A U.S. Army veteran, Doc served during the Korean War and was the head custodian with the Glen Ridge Board of Education for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Florham Park/East Hanover Elks Club Lodge and the Order of the Sons of Italy Padre Pio Lodge. He will be missed by all whom knew him.
Beloved husband of 65 years to Theresa (Mariano) Branca, he was the devoted father of Salvatore "Ricky" Branca and his wife, Nancy; cherished grandfather of Nicole Harris and her husband, Jason; proud great-grandfather of Joseph Albert and Juliana. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Doc was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Lucy Branca and his brothers, Joseph and Anthony Branca.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, 210 Ridgedale Ave., Florham Park, N.J., is on Friday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral is on Saturday, Jan. 25 assembling at the funeral home at 10 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, N.J., at 11 a.m. Entombment is at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
