Anna Marie Casola (nee Rotonda) passed away Jan. 2, 2020, in the West Caldwell Care Center after a 10-year battle with complications from advanced dementia and congestive heart failure.
She was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Newark, N.J., to the late Gerardo and Columbia Rotonda.
She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Carolann Auriemma Garafola of University Park, Fla., and Valerie Auriemma Messina and son-in-law Deacon Dominic Messina of Cape Cod, Mass.; grandchildren, Carolyn Messina, James Messina and Joanne Sorresse-Messina; great-granddaughter, Maria Rose Messina; brother, Gerard Rotonda Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her very much-loved sister, Marie Negri.
Anna Marie worked for Columbus Hospital, Newark, N.J., from the time she was 15 years of age as a switchboard operator until her retirement at 55 years of age as the office administrator. She was also the primary business owner of Doctor's Billing Services of West Caldwell, N.J. Anna Marie was a well-respected business woman at Columbus Hospital, especially by the nursing staff and doctors, loved by her family for her baked goods, always dressed to the nines, and loved to throw parties for her children and family.
A celebration of her life will be private for the family and held in June 2020 at the Jersey Shore.
