Business owner; devoted her life to serving others
Carole L. Cascio (nee Gallo) 77, of Elizabeth, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, N.J., surrounded by her loving family.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral at the Corsentino Home for Funerals, 620 Second Ave., corner of John St., Elizabeth on Monday, Dec. 16 at 9 a.m., thence to St. Genevieve's Church, Elizabeth, where at 10:30 a.m. a Funeral Mass will be offered. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. Cremation will be private.
Carole was a lifelong resident of Elizabeth. She married the love of her life, John, in 1984. Carole was the successful owner and operator of Hair Garden, Roselle Park, N.J., for over 40 years before retiring.
Carole was elected to the Elizabeth board of education from 2000 until 2006. In 2001, she served as vice president and from 2002 to 2003 she served as president. She was the president of UNICO's Kenilworth chapter.
She was a Eucharistic minister and parishioner for St. Genevieve's Church and she was on the advisory board for O.L.G.A, Elizabeth.
Carole had a huge heart of gold and it shined so brightly through her love for helping others.
She volunteered for many charities including: The Salvation Army, American Cancer Societies-"Look good, feel good" campaign and various fundraisers and benefits.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family at LBI. Carole devoted her life to serving others and she will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched.
Carole devoted and caring wife, mother and aunt. She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, John P. Cascio; loving son, Jon Carlo and his wife, Kristen Cascio; cherished nephews, Tommy and his wife, Angela; Bobby and his wife, Jane, and Vinny. She is a also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving relatives and friends. Carole was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Lee Gallo and sister, Betty Lee Templeton.
Carole didn't have with her heart of gold. She gave to everyone. In lieu of flowers, and in Carole's memory, please make a donation to the .
