Calvin D. West of Newark, N.J., former Newark city councilman and assistant to New Jersey governors, passed Dec. 2, 2019.
Mr. West was the husband of the late Audrey West, loving brother of Kenneth West and the late Honorable Larrie West- Stalks, Theresa Wynn and Loni Bradic. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Robert Treat Hotel, 50 Park Pl., Newark. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James AME Church, 588 Dr. King Blvd. Newark. Entombment is at Fairmount Cemetery, Newark. Arrangements are in the loving care of the James E. Churchman Jr. Funeral Home.
