Alton Kirk Lanterman

Died

Alton Kirk Lanterman

My best friend and beloved husband A. Kirk Lanterman died recently at home surrounded by those he loved. Kirk truly made an impact in his nearly 88 years of an incredible and meaningful life well spent.

-- An avidly proud North Dakotan he loved and lived the values of the state where he grew up.

-- A combat veteran of the Korean War, Kirk lived the horrors of war and held a deep respect for all fellow veterans.

-- A very successful businessman, Kirk relished working, and really enjoyed the challenges and the competition

-- He reviled boastful and arrogant people and was humbled at being lauded by his peers and friends

-- His sense of humor and keen wit was unrivaled and appreciated by all who really knew him

-- Four daughters, nine grand-

children and eight great grandchildren were his greatest success

-- Kirk truly believed that the employees of Holland America Line were the reason for the company's success; he was just there to lead the way.

During his 32 years at HAL he never laid off one employee and always said his main job was to make sure their jobs were secure. I could go on for pages about Kirk's kindness and generosity, but those who knew him already know all about that. Private memorial services will be held for Kirk in Seattle, Palm Desert CA, and Bismarck, ND. May the Angels and Our Lord keep you close and may I say " Job Well done". ~ Sign Alton's Guest Book at www.Legacy.com
