MAMANTOV, Alexander Ilya Alexander Ilya Mamantov passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 in Dallas, TX. He was born in Riga, Latvia on January 27, 1944 and emigrated to the US in 1950. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ilya A. Mamantov and Sandra G. Mamantov. He is survived by his wife Mary and children Michael Mamantov, wife Tonya; Nena Kirkman, husband Kane; stepchildren Debra Rice, husband Jerry; Robert Romano, wife Samantha; brothers Igor Mamantov, wife Pat of Chicago, IL; Michael Mamantov, wife Gay of Granbury, TX; aunt Charmaine Mamantov of Knoxville, TN; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and 7 grandchildren. Alex graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1962, and received his college degree from University of Texas at Dallas. He served in the US Navy on the destroyer Waldron. His career was in the manufacture of computers and the child care business. Alex was an avid collector and restorer of classic cars. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 30 at 11am at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 2443 Abrams Rd, Dallas 75214.
