Former assemblywoman for the 19th district, director at NJEA
Arline M. Friscia passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J. She was 84 years old.
Arline was a former member of the New Jersey General Assembly, having served from January 1996 to January 2004 representing the 19th legislative district, which includes Woodbridge, Carteret, Perth Amboy, South Amboy and Sayreville. Arline served as councilwoman-at-large in Woodbridge Township from 1987 to 1991.
Much of Arline's work was focused on helping. For over 18 years, she served as UniServ Director for the New Jersey Education Association. Here, she negotiated on behalf of public employees for the NJEA.
She was predeceased by her husband, William McArdle, and brother, Robert S. Friscia.
Surviving are her nieces, Dona Brown, Sharon Schneider and Kathy Carnovale; nephew, Robert C. Friscia; great-nieces, Valerie, Emily and Samantha; and great-nephews, Dominick, Victor and Nicholas.
