HORAK, Antoinette Antoinette (Toni) Interrante Horak, 80, of Dallas, TX passed away October 14, 2019. She was born February 23, 1939, to Frank and Josephine (Bono) Interrante of Dallas, TX. Toni attended St. Edwards Catholic School in Dallas, and totally crushed it, graduating as Valedictorian in 1956. She attended the University of Dallas, where she met the love of her life, Joseph "Jodie" Horak. She graduated in 1960 with a degree in mathematics. Her association with the school has lasted throughout her life time. She established the Joseph Horak Memorial Scholarship benefitting students in need, and in 2005 was recognized as Distinguished Alumna. Toni was a Math teacher, a family counselor, a community volunteer, and a devoted mother. Always passionate about helping others, she earned a Masters of Art in Psychology from Texas Women's University, enabling a career in counseling families and young people in troubled situations. She gave her time, energy, and endless creativity in helping organizations including Neighborhood Youth Services and Family Outreach of East Dallas always in the pursuit of keeping families safe, healed, and whole. Toni was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Horak. Toni is survived by her two sisters Rosalie Theriot and Minnie Shelby, her son and two daughters and their spouses, Michael and Natalie Horak, Judy and David Benavides, and Suzanne and Mike Bacile, as well as Anton and Christina Horak, Angela and Benton Bacile, and Katie Carrillo and husband Jon Carrillo, and Molly Benavides. Toni will always be remembered as a smart, funny, and caring soul who, by her touch, gave light to others. She was truly a graceful spirit among us. Her lasagna is the stuff of legend. Service will be held at Calvary Hill North Chapel with a Rosary at 9:30am followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., October 21, 2019 with reception following in the commons.
