Retired truck driver was a longtime South River resident
Charles Philipone, 61, of South River, N.J., passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2019, at Seasons Hospice in New Brunswick, N.J.,
Born in Elizabeth, N.J., he had resided in South River for many years. Before his retirement, Charles was a truck driver with Advantage Environmental in Matawan, N.J. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River.
He was predeceased by his father, Peter Philipone.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Donna Genus; his mother, Laura Philipone; brother, Michael Philipone; sisters, Diane Ihle and Lori Hinman and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River, with a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will follow at St. Stan's Cemetery in Sayreville, N.J.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
