PALMER, Amalia Dimond 1949 - 2019 Amalia Palmer was a long-time resident of Richardson, Texas, and a retired special education teacher and community volunteer. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Amalia earned her bachelor's degree in special education from Murray State University and her master's degree in Learning Disabilities from the University of Louisville. She taught in the public school systems of Louisville, Brownsville and Richardson. Amalia is survived by a son, Warren Palmer of Richardson; daughter, Jennifer Palmer Koekemoer of Rio Linda, CA; grandchildren, Mackenzie Palmer and Micah and Eli Koekemoer; sister, Margot Dimond, and niece and Goddaughter, Lisa Dimond Vasquez both of Houston. A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 421 Custer Road, Richardson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Warren Center for Children with Developmental Differences, 320 Custer Road, Richardson, TX 75080 (thewarrencenter.org), or Equest, 811 Pemberton Hill Road, Building 4, Dallas, TX 75217 (Equest.org).
