POGUE, Barbara Barbara Ann Pogue went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours of August 17, 2019. Barbara was born to Kenneth and Nita Pogue in Dallas, Texas, on September 29, 1955. She was a precocious child who became an incredibly proficient and productive adult. She graduated from Richardson High School, where she was an Eaglette. With a passion for truth and justice, Barbara earned her degree in Journalism at Texas Tech University, where she pledged Zeta Tau Alpha and was their Rush chairman. She wrote for the student paper, covering a vast array of subjects, including a visit from President Gerald Ford. After graduating, Barbara pursued many of her dreams, including globetrotting as a flight attendant for Braniff and ad writing for Dr. Pepper, the American Heart Association and Southwest Diagnostic, among other organizations. She also wrote for many ministries, including Tim LaHaye's, author of the Left Behind series. Barbara enjoyed her work as a journalist, interviewing such celebrities as Johnny Depp and Sandra Bullock, as well as covering news for Reuters, Good Morning Texas, KERA and Channel 5 in Dallas. She also loved teaching journalism at SMU both in Dallas and in London. In 2013, Barbara was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and fought a valiant battle for the last six years. She was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Pogue. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Alexis Austin Hall; her parents; as well as countless other family and friends who are devastated by her loss, but uplifted in the knowledge that they will see her again. Her graveside service will be at Ridgeview Memorial Park at 11am and her memorial service will be at Park Cities Presbyterian Church at 1:30pm, with reception to follow, on Friday, August 23, 2019. Parking is across the street or there is a shuttle from Tom Thumb. Guests are asked to wear a pop of yellow to the services.
