Abbey Sharon Aznar, 76, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 21, 2019.
Mrs. Aznar was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard Eugene Aznar, of 50 years. She is survived by her devoted children, Eric Aznar and his wife, Deborah and her daughter, Jill Aznar-Burkhard.
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Sammy, Rachel and Alison Burkhard and Chloe and Sophia Aznar, as well as her dear brother, Jerome Kaplan and his wife, Marilyn. Abbey is further survived by her loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and many friends.
Abbey was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Faye Kaplan; her sister, Rhoda Cohen and her brother, Arnold Kaplan.
Mrs. Aznar taught in the Jersey City school district for over 25 years. She graduated from Jersey City State College with a degree in early childhood education, was a member of Women's American ORT and was involved in both Temple Emanu-El and Temple Beth-AM in Bayonne, NJ..
She was a voracious reader, a wonderful cook and enjoyed traveling, but her true passion was spending time with her family and loved ones.
Services will be held Thursday, July 25 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Mount Moriah Cemetery, 685 Fairview Ave., Fairview, N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Room to Read, roomtoread.org.
